Sump Pumps

Most of the time when we do a basement system we can eliminate the pump with a gravity drain. However this is not always possible or cost effective. Sometime A sump pump is a better option. A sump pump is used to remove water that has accumulated in a water-collecting sump basin, commonly found in the basements of homes. Sump pumps are used where basement flooding happens regularly and to solve dampness where the water table is above the foundation of a home. The sump pump pumps the water out but in order to solve the water problem fully and correctly an internal footing drain would normally need to be installed in addition to the sump pump.

                                        Back up Sump Pump Systems

Depending on the amount of the water a customer may want to install a back up system. We recommend a 1/3 hp primary pump with a 1/2 horse power back up pump. As well as a battery back up sump pump.

When the power goes out there are a couple different options as far as back up system for the sump pumps go. Battery Back ups are a very common solution to this problem. Another solution would be a city water powered back up system. When the power goes out the city has large capacity generators that automatically turn on to keep the city water going. The pump then harnesses the power of the water to pump out many times the water it intakes.
